A quick look at the Crucial X9 Pro and X10 Pro portable SSDs – PC perspective

SSD

A more robust solution for portable storage

Thumb drives are fine, though they tend to die if neglected and can do terrible damage to a USB port if you happen to forget you’re plugged in. The Crucial X9 Pro and X10 Pro on the other hand will keep on banging, even if the drink you put in your bag happens to spill. X9 Pro performance is dead on advertised speed and highly recommended to anyone.

The X10 Pro on the other hand requires a proper USB 3.2 Gen-2 2×2 interface, you won’t see speeds similar to the X9 Pro. You should keep this in mind when shopping, if the device you plan to pair the X10 Pro with doesn’t have 2×2 connectivity, you’re better off going with the X9 Pro. Hopefully I can get my hands on it to test the X10 Pro again properly.

If your computer, camera, or other device has this interface, you’ll double transfer speeds for a small price premium. That speed will mean the difference between 4K 60 FPS video and 4K 120 FPS video, not to mention you’ll save a lot of time copying files back and forth. These are a great addition to your bag and are definitely recommended.
