It’s a good thing that iGPU performance has seen such a boost over the past couple of generations, considering the simultaneous rise in prices for discrete GPUs. The days of the $500 PC would be completely gone if it weren’t for the work Intel and AMD have done to make it possible to play games on one of their integrated GPUs. Performance won’t match an RTX or Radeon, but if you’re on a tight budget, it’s a lifesaver! FPS Review tested the Ryzen 8700G and 8600G against the aging Ryzen 5700G.

You won’t see all the glory of Cyberpunk 2077, but hitting close to 60fps at 1080p with medium settings and FSR enabled is impressive. If you like racing, the 64fps average in F1 2022 set to premium quality should bring a smile to your face. Unfortunately, Starfield and some other modern titles remain out of reach, but you have to keep your expectations reasonable. If you’re looking for a new budget system and hope to play on it, using a Ryzen 8700G will give you a more flexible system than buying a console and your performance will be close.
