Apple’s iPad Air is reportedly set for a spring hardware refresh that includes the M3 chip and a second larger size, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Needless to say, those interested in upgrading will just have to bide their time until it drops (supposedly in March). But if you’re fine with giving up next-gen specs for a lot, head to Best Buy for the foreseeable future.

As of January 29, the electronics store has the base configuration of the current iPad Air for just $449.99. (Meanwhile, it’s completely sold out on Amazon.) That’s 25% off its $599 MSRP — a savings of just under $150 — and its lowest price yet, beating the Black Friday 2023 deal by $50.

Released in 2022, this fifth-generation iPad Air is a lightweight tablet with Apple’s M1 chip, a 10.9-inch Retina display, a 12MP rear camera that can shoot 4K video, and a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Main stage support; the base model comes with 64GB of storage and no cellular connectivity.

Mashable’s Stan Schroder said it’s “stylish, powerful, and versatile enough for both casual users and professionals” and noted that it has “all the key features of the 11-inch iPad Pro.” We wish it started with a bit more storage, but overall, it’s nice enough to earn a Mashable’s Choice award and a spot on our best tablets list.
