Crime probably shouldn’t be fun … unless, of course, you’re a criminal, in which case whatever floats your boat. Now, how about we take the criminal shenanigans and put it all in a really colorful 90s comedy setting? I think it sounds a lot more fun, and being a 90s kid does that nostalgia thing for me. Without crime apparently, I was too young to be a budding criminal mastermind. Anyway, I’m thinking. The game we will see today is The Big Con and it’s everything I just mentioned. I must say it looks like a blast.

So, as I just said, The Big Con it will give you all the thrills of a lifetime of petty theft, sneaking and general mischief without much chance of getting caught. If running away from home, stealing from a child or a little bank fraud sounds like a good idea, then this will definitely be the game for you. As an important point, all this is done for a good cause. I mean, saving your mom’s video store is a good cause, right? If you can get away with it without a criminal record, think of all the VHS tapes you can save!

“VHS?”, I hear some of you younger guys asking, “what kind of geriatric code is that?” Well, the reason some of you don’t know what a videotape is, is because you were born into a DVD world. The Big Con It’s set in the 90s and comes with all the lively, comedic flair the decade had to offer. This will be a colorful adventure full of puzzles and dialogues where all you need to do is earn some extra cash.

How you earn the money you need to save your parents’ business is entirely up to you. Whether your criminal caper involves picking locks, persuading signs or cashing in on the latest plush fashion it’s just a means to an end. The end is a lot of safe VHS tapes or looking inside a jail cell depending on how successful you happen to be.

In The Big Con, you’ll be thrown into an irreverent puzzle adventure full of open-ended situations and exploration. You won’t just be exercising your slightly sticky fingers. In this title, you’ll need a sharp mind if you’re going to successfully negotiate deals, or perhaps more importantly, stay out of trouble. You take your skills across the country, so there will be plenty of targets out there to practice your nefarious work.

If being a little naughty in a different decade sounds like something you should totally be into, The Big Con it’s on all major Microsoft-based digital stores now. This title is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. You should go and buy it though, don’t start doing anything bad before you start playing.
