I just saw an interesting bit of news regarding a new Metroidvania style action game coming to our screens next year. It’s always great to see developers use Early Access as a means to perfect a title, and it generally means they really want input from the players who will be consuming their product. This is largely the case with Blast Brigadethe game we will discover and discuss a little today.

Blast Brigade is an action-platformer from the folks at MY.GAMES and Allods Team Arcade. As I just mentioned, this title has reached Steam Early Access and players can experience a significant part of the game. By “substantial,” I mean you can get stuck into two full acts of it Blast Brigadehis story and meet three playable characters in the process. The cast you’ll meet includes the cheerful hero, Jeff J. Jeffersonthe frosty ex-KGB agent Suraand the very gallant ones Galahad.

In of the Explosive Brigade current state, you will bring your new friends into battle against thirty different types of enemies and seven challenging bosses using an arsenal of six different weapons. You’ll also explore six experiences, each offering a series of unique challenges to overcome with their character’s unique abilities. As you explore, you’ll also be able to upgrade your characters with a variety of different perks and base your tasks, allowing you to better prepare for missions.

The Blast Brigade they are just that, a team of heroes. You won’t be able to choose your favorite character and race through the entire game. These agents have a very specific set of skills and you will need to change them immediately if you want to overcome the obstacles presented to you. This will add a certain puzzle aspect to the game that may well provide a welcome change to the action.

So what can you expect to see coming up with Blast Brigadeits final release then? Based on player feedback at this stage of the process, there will be more content in the form of substantial updates and quality of life changes. As I noted at the beginning, the developers really listen to the players and shape the game for them. This is great to see. Additionally, you’ll get a fourth, as-yet-unknown, character to play as. So much more to come for those of you who start tracking the progress now.

Blast Brigade it is scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and 5, X Box One, Xbox Series S/X and of course PC early next year. As an added incentive for players to get involved now, those who sign up during the Early Access period will receive the yet-to-be-announced DLC for free, along with some additional goodies. This should be more than enough to get 2D action fans gearing up for a brand new adventure.
