3D V-Cache arrives on the AM5 platform

Intel has enjoyed a favorable position in the desktop gaming space so far this generation, but AMD now has an option that they say is faster than the Core i9-13900K. During AMD CEO Lisa Su’s presentation last night, the new processors are called the “world’s fastest gaming processors”. How did they do it? Why, with 3D V-Cache, of course!

As much as we’ve heard the “wait for X3D” refrain since the Ryzen 7000 was launched in September, we expect these new Ryzen 7000 Series X3D parts to be very popular. As you’re probably aware, AMD ended up discounting its new processors amid seemingly sluggish adoption of the AM5 platform, and the X3D is just what AMD needed to make this upgrade more attractive.

AMD announced the addition of three new Ryzen X3D processors – the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D – bringing the power of AMD 3D V-Cache technology to the Ryzen 7000 Series1 desktop processor line. Now, the ultimate processors for both gamers and creators come packed into a single chip.

These new Ryzen 7000X3D are the world’s fastest gaming processors.4 With up to 14% faster performance than the previous generation.6 AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors with 3D V-Cache technology will be available for Socket AM5 from February 2023.

As mentioned above, the new processors are the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X3D, and they have some interesting specs – with monstrous cache levels being the main attraction.
