CES 2024: NVIDIA Announces SUPER RTX 40 Series Cards – PC Perspective

Written By Adarsh Shankar Jha

NVIDIA has provided some indication of performance levels, which you can see by visiting their official announcement page, linked hereand details like the RTX 4070 SUPER equipped with 20% more shaders than the original – at the same price of $599 – are promising.

But about those price cuts mentioned above: there are two of them and one is a big one. Starting with the smallest, as NVIDIA is going to keep the entry-level RTX 4070 in the line at $549 (but with a mere $50 price drop I can’t see choosing one over the more capable SUPER variant). In the midst of this, the RTX 4070 Ti seems to be disappearing, with only the Ti SUPER in its place at the old price of $799. But the big cut is at the top of the stack, with the new RTX 4080 SUPER replacing the original and dropping the price from $1199 to $999 – a whopping $200 price drop – in the process.

The GeForce RTX 4090 remains at the top of the consumer stack at $1599, so if you were hoping for a 4090 SUPER you’ll have to keep waiting (probably forever). But at the bottom of this slide we find another missing card – the $499 GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. We still see the 4060 Ti at $399, and now there will be a $549 option on the entry-level RTX 4070, but what about that $499 price? Seems like a good point for the 4070 if you asked me.

In terms of availability, the RTX 4070 SUPER will go on sale on January 17th, starting at $599 USD, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will go on sale on January 24th, starting at $799 USD, and the RTX 4080 SUPER will be released on January 31st , starting at $999.
