No more performance than needed to fill a niche in the market
Welcome to RTX 4070 Ti SUPER day, where every big seller has at least one card for the judges to check out. Sebastian’s review covered the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, a handsome 12 x 5.43 x 2.55-inch card that’s big enough to carry such a big name. We have never seen a Ti SUPER card before, until now they were separate GPUs but not anymore. Its tests show that you get decent performance for the extra $200 when gaming on a 3440×1440 ultrawide monitor.
FPS Review also looked at the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, but they tested 4K performance as well as 1440p for those without ultrawide. They also managed to overclock the card, hitting a Boost clock of 3 GHz, a nice jump from the 2805 MHz Boost they observed straight out of the box. The memory also had plenty of headroom, jumping from 21 Gbps to 24 Gbps. This was enough for a noticeable difference in performance and didn’t add that much heat or noise, making the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER even more attractive. It’s not enough to get 4K and Ray tracing without an upgrade, but that’s something the new generation of RTX cards do quite well.
