Can your motherboard handle DDR5-8000?

The Patriot Viper Patriot Xtreme 5 DDR5-8000 kit has 38-48-48-84-117 timings and runs at 1.45V. As TechPowerUp found out, you need a pretty robust motherboard to run at those speeds, even more so if you plan on overclocking. The high frequency and comparatively tight timings definitely have a positive effect on synthetic benchmarks and will give you a handful of extra frames in some games on Intel systems that can handle it.

The TPU and Intel 13900K they used were able to hit DDR5-8600, but only if a single DIMM was installed. With both DIMMs installed, they settled at DDR5-8200 @ 1.5V, with slightly tighter timings of 34-48-84-84. This increased the synthetic effects and added another handful of frames to the game’s performance. If you’re interested, the 32GB kit will set you back $200.
