Pour thermal paste for the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet? – PC perspective

Why spread when you can cut and paste

If you’ve been putting off cleaning your system’s internals because you’re worried you might have to peel off your heatsink and reapply thermal paste after scrubbing your cooler, then check out this TechPowerUp review. The Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet offers a way to skip the paste, instead using a thermally conductive graphene sheet that you cut to size and place on the CPU die. They are intended to work anywhere thermal paste or pads are currently used, for example in their review TPU tested the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet on an ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX, with a TDP of 475W.

There’s no glue, so you have to be a little careful when fitting the foil, but it’s really no more difficult than dealing with paste. When the TPU popped the cooler after enough use, they could see indentations in the thermal sheet, proving that it will fill in any uneven spots. As for performance, it meets or exceeds traditional TIMs, which makes it rather attractive. However, there are a few things to keep in mind, such as the slight electrical conductivity of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet.

The secrets of this new type of TIM are revealed here.
