Getting the RTX 3070 at $330
AMD’s latest RX 7600 XT is certainly more affordable than the NVIDIA card that dropped yesterday, but it also won’t come close to the performance of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Instead, it seems to be aimed more at the ~$300 RTX 3060, which is exactly what Josh saw in his XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT review. It can’t touch NVIDIA when ray tracing is involved, but other than that it can match or beat the RX 3060. If you haven’t checked out its review, you really should, as it will give you a lot of details about its specs. the Navi 33 based chip.
TechPowerUp took a look at a different version, the Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 XT Pulse. The clocks are similar 2810 MHz Boost and 2250 MHz memory so the performance matches the results of the XFX card. They tried a bit of overclocking, seeing an average frequency of 3045 MHz when in-game. That wasn’t enough for a noticeable difference in performance, but if you want to overclock, you’ll be able to overclock this card a bit.
The high resolution test shows that the extra memory helps, unfortunately the GPU itself struggles to keep up. This means that enabling FSR 3.0 and upgrading will provide a better experience than with the RX 7600’s smaller memory pool. Check this card and the following to get the full picture.
